AEN Membership
- Membership in the Association of Ethiopian Neurologists (AEN) is open to individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing neurology in Ethiopia. Members are classified into three categories:
Regular Members
- Full membership is available to individuals trained in neurology or related specialties, including:
Neurologists.
Subspecialists in fields such as pediatric neurology or neuropsychiatry.
Other recognized professionals in neurology who comply with the Association’s Constitution.
▪︎ Eligibility Requirements:
- Submit a completed membership application.
- Pay the required membership fee.
- Approval by the Executive Committee.
Associate Members
Associate membership is open to individuals interested in supporting AEN’s objectives, including professionals from allied health fields or other disciplines.

- Submit a completed membership application.
- Pay the required membership fee.
- Approval by the Executive Committee.
▪︎ Rights and Restrictions:
- Associate members may attend the General Assembly but cannot vote, elect, or be elected.
Honorary Members
- Honorary membership is granted to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to neurology in Ethiopia or to the AEN itself.
Nomination Process:
Nominated by the Executive Committee.
Approval by two-thirds of those attending a General Assembly.
Emeritus Membership
For retired neurologists who wish to remain engaged with AEN and contribute their expertise.
Rights & Benefits:

✔ Mentorship and advisory opportunities.
✔ Recognition for lifelong contributions to neurology.
Corporate Membership
For organizations, institutions, and corporate entities that support neurological research, education, and healthcare initiatives.
Rights & Benefits:
✔ Opportunities for sponsorship and partnerships.
✔ Recognition as an AEN corporate partner.
✔ Engagement in AEN-led neurological initiatives.
▪︎ Membership Fees
- Membership fees are determined by the General Assembly and are subject to change as needed. All fees must be paid promptly to maintain membership status.
▪︎ Rights of Members
Members of AEN have the right to:
- Vote, elect, and be elected to various positions within the Association (for Full Members only).
- Participate in all AEN activities, including conferences and advocacy initiatives.
- Receive AEN publications free of charge.
- Access information and resources provided by the Association.
▪︎ Obligations of Members
Members are expected to:
- Uphold professional ethics in their practice.
- Comply with the Constitution, rules, and regulations of AEN.
- Pay membership fees regularly.
- Support the objectives and initiatives of the Association.
▪︎ Loss of Membership
- Membership may be forfeited in the following circumstances:
- Failure to adhere to the Constitution, rules, or regulations of AEN.
- Confirmed professional misconduct by the appropriate body or court ruling.
- Upon death or a written request to leave the Association.
